If doors are supplied unfinished they should be decorated in accordance with British Standard Code of Practice BS6150: 2006 and BS8000 Part 5:1990. The stain or paint manufacturer’s instructions must be followed.
All surfaces must be treated (sealed) at the same time to prevent distortion from moisture imbalance. A base coat paint primer is not a seal. MDF foil wrapped linings, architraves and side panels can be left unfinished, however, if you wish to decorate we recommend one coat of water based gloss or satin paint.
