Everyone has a role to play in building a sustainable future and it begins with the homes we live in. At JELD-WEN, we aspire to be the industry leader in environmentally responsible practices and products, and this begins with our efforts to reduce the impact of our products and operations on the environment. We have committed ourselves to more sustainable business practices and environmental stewardship. This affects every aspect of our organization and governs our approach to energy efficiency, air, and water emissions, and indoor air quality.
Our commitment to sustainability is reflected externally by the development of more environmentally beneficial products. To achieve this, we have adopted policies for recycled materials and renewable energy, and increasingly source all our materials from sustainable sources.
All our employees are committed to ensuring that we comply with, or exceed, environmental and human welfare laws. Everyone is encouraged to identify opportunities for environmentally beneficial solutions. We strive to live up to the principles of our corporate responsibility every day - both in our products and in our actions.
We have a sustainable, renewable timber sourcing policy and are extremely proud to have received FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) and PEFC™ multi-site chain of custody certifications both dedicated to promoting responsible forest management. JELD-WEN'S FSC license code is FSC® CO106039 and PEFC license code is PEFC/04-31-1264

All JELD-WEN doors meet the EU Timber regulations, effective March 2013, which aims to prevent the trade in illegal harvesting of timber into the European market.
JELD-WEN’s goals are to be the industry leader in socially responsible practices and to conduct our business in a manner that demonstrates environmental stewardship. At JELD-WEN, we believe that a healthy environment and healthy business practices go hand in hand.
EPD - ENVIRONMENTAL PRODUCT DECLARATION
An EPD is an environmental declaration that summarises a product's environmental profile. It provides information on the environmental impact throughout the product's life cycle.
EPDs are a transparent data source for helping customers choose a sustainable product solution, in addition to helping make accurate life-cycle assessments of buildings (WBLCA – Whole Building Life Cycle Assessment) - a requirement in many building regulations and certification schemes for carbon measurement in the built environment, for example, BREEAM, RICS PS and LEED.
Our EPDs are third-party verified through the EPD Hub and can be downloaded below;
In line with the UK Government’s net-zero target and the global JELD-WEN ESG goals for 2050, we are currently working towards an ambitious agenda for sustainable homes and a better future, upholding our environmental stewardship philosophy in many ways to meet our goals:
- We design and produce long-lasting, energy-saving doors.
- Our manufacturing process utilises recycled waste materials.
- We manufacture products close to markets to minimise fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
Our 2050 Global sustainability goals are:
ZERO MANUFACTURING WASTE TO LANDFILL
All waste and waste byproducts from manufacturing will be reused or recycled, which includes incineration with energy recovery.
NET-ZERO GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS
We will achieve net zero direct (Scope 1) and indirect (Scope 2) greenhouse gas emissions through efficiency projects and converting to renewable energy.
100% RECYCLED OR SUSTAINABLY HARVESTED MATERIALS
We will use recycled or harvested content from external sources or internal processes where available.
100% GLOBAL SOURCING OF SUSTAINABLE OR CERTIFIED WOOD
We will source wood for manufacturing from sustainable or certified forests and deliver it through certified supply chains.
