What are composite doors?
A composite door is a door made from more than one material unlike a timber or uPVC door. By using multiple materials, it allows a composite door to have more benefits than a single material product.
JELD-WEN UK offer two types of composite door - the Castle range is made from glass reinforced plastics with a woodgrain finish and the Insulux range constructed with aluminium layers, foam core and a real wood timber face.
Why choose a composite door?
Composite exterior doors are a great choice for many reasons:
Thermal and acoustic properties - composite doors are 6 times more efficient than a single material door ensuring that the warmth within your home is not easily escaping through your front door. Our Insulux range of exterior doors has a 30mm thick insulation foam core which excels at keeping the cold weather on the outside. Our composite doors are all injected with a polyurethane core which is 100% CFC-free, enhancing sound insulation helping you create a cosy environment in your home.
Security - if you are looking to increase the security and peace of mind for your property a composite external door is great choice. Our Castle composite range comes Secured by Design as standard (a police specification for enhanced security), as well has high quality ERA locking systems and anti-bump cylinders to prevent attacks on the lock.
Low Maintenance - Unlike other doors, composite doors are virtually maintenance free and can simply be cleaned with a damp cloth.
Appearance - Whether you choose a woodgrain finish or a real timber exterior door, a composite door still looks striking and is available in a range of colours.
