FAQ

What is a composite door?

A composite door is a door constructed of more than one material. Unlike traditional solid timber or uPVC it is made from a mixture of materials in order to create a better functioning exterior door.

A timber composite door is constructed using a variety of materials with an outer timber face. Aesthetically it looks like a traditional solid timber door, but it has a much higher overall performance – including thermal insulation and security features, such as Secured by Design specification.

Timber composite doorsets, such as the INSULUX range, have the benefit of a real timber exterior to give the appeal of a natural woodgrain finish, whilst having aluminium layers on the inside to provide the best security performance. You can view the range here.
