At JELD-WEN we're not just into appearances, we are equally concerned with what lies beneath. It is important that you and your family tread carefully, which is why we have our stairs independently assessed and certified by recognised external authorities.
As part of the British Woodworking Federation (BWF) Stair Scheme, the only independent accreditation and certification scheme of its kind in the UK, we are regularly audited to ensure our products and production meet their high standards and are fire tested for fire protected communal stairs.
The Scheme focuses on promoting effective design and reliable manufacture, developing guidance where standards and regulations conflict and ensuring best practice advice is passed onto installers. All products made by BWF accredited firms are proven to meet the relevant performance requirements for loading, deflection and fire resistance (where appropriate).
The Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), part of BRE Global, assesses and certifies fire and security systems and services against standards such as British Standards, European Standards and Loss Prevention Standards.
The BRE rigorously fire test JELD-WEN communal stairs as part of the BWF Stair Scheme. This means that JELD-WEN's timber stairs are effective as a means of escape, even after extremely hazardous fire conditions.
All JELD-WEN stairs carry a BWF badge and a record of your stairs will be kept for 10 years as part of our quality guarantee.
