For the second year running, Simon Barron, Area Sales Consultant at JELD-WEN has been awarded ‘Sales Representative of the Year’ by Ridgeons - the leading independent builder’s merchant in the East of England - at its annual Supplier Awards.
Ridgeons hosted its annual ‘Meet the Merchant’ event at its Pampisford site, where over 50 suppliers showcased the latest products on offer to Ridgeons’ sales teams, branch managers and senior staff. The supplier awards, which take place annually are voted on by Ridgeons’ branches and external sales staff and are judged against a set criteria, including relationships with internal sales and technical team reps and after sales support.
JELD-WEN supplies a range of quality timber window, door and stair solutions to Ridgeons, which has 26 branches across the East of England. Simon, who has been working for JELD-WEN and with Ridgeons for 27 years, won ‘Sales Representative of the Year’, again in 2014. Within his role, Simon visits a number of Ridgeons branches and external sales, using his specialist knowledge to help the merchant maximise sales of joinery products.
On receiving the award Simon said: “I’m extremely pleased to have won the ‘Sales Representative of the Year’ award for the second year running, especially as this has never happened before. I’ve worked for JELD-WEN and with Ridgeons for 27 years; therefore I have been able to build a close working relationship with all levels of Ridgeons’ sales staff, counter staff, sales teams and key account managers”.
