JELD-WEN Windows at Ideal Home Show Fit For A Prince

JELD-WEN, one of the UK's leading manufacturers of sustainable windows and doors, is delighted to be again supplying windows to the prestigious Prince's Arts & Crafts House at the Ideal Home Show.

Working in partnership with its customer Jewson, the UK's leading supplier of sustainable timber and building materials, JELD-WEN products will be installed in the Prince's Arts & Crafts House as well as on display on the Jewson/JELD-WEN stand at the show.

The Prince's House features an Arts and Crafts design and highlights the benefits of sustainable, eco-friendly living.  Designed by the Prince's Foundation, the Prince's House is designed with many sustainable and energy saving features, not least of which includes JELD-WEN's timber windows, as well as highly insulated walls, roof and floors.

JELD-WEN's Stormsure plain casement windows were selected for the Prince's House, as they are renowned for their aesthetics, as well as being available with low U values to achieve high thermal performance.  Like all JELD-WEN's softwood timber windows, the Stormsure range is available with full Chain of Custody certification, which demonstrates the environmental credentials of these windows.

The Product Manager at JELD-WEN, explains: "It is really exciting to be supplying the Prince's House again at this year's Ideal Home Show.  As timber is the only truly sustainable material for windows and doors, we are delighted to be demonstrating products with such high environmental credentials and which are produced here in the UK."

She added: "Homeowners are looking for windows and patio doors that maximise the amount of natural light in the home, but still retain a high level of thermal performance and this is exactly what we are demonstrating at the show."

In addition to the Prince's House, JELD-WEN will be supplying its Vertical Sliding Sash and Hi Profile Combi window ranges, as well as its luxurious Canberra patio door for display on the Jewson/JELD-WEN stand.

JELD-WEN's Hi-Profile Combi fully reversible window system, which can be seen at the show, offers total flexibility in window design and configuration and includes a wide range of operational functions that enable easy cleaning for the homeowner.

One of JELD-WEN's most popular window styles, the vertical sliding sash window will also be on display. It offers all the benefits of traditional aesthetics that are popular in classic or heritage homes, combined with an energy efficient design.

Complementing the window line up will be the luxurious Canberra French patio door, again on display at the Jewson/JELD-WEN stand. This is a Premium solid oak folding sliding patio door, which enables homeowners to open up their living space and maximise natural light in their property.

Lee Broomhall, Self Build Project Leader at Jewson, commented: "Building your own home is a significant investment and can be hugely challenging. Whatever the style or scale of the project - Jewson has been working with self-build customers for many years and has a wealth of expertise as well as the building materials and renewable technologies available to make the build a success."

Last year the Prince's Foundation built its first house at the Ideal Home Show.  The house, which featured JELD-WEN's windows and doorsets, received great acclaim and 250,000 people passed through its doors during the three and a half week period of the Ideal Home Show.
